Ben Martin

Little feet was first started in 2018 by Ben Martin. His dream was to make an inclusive sports session, due to the challenges he faced growing up.

Ben was born deaf but had a cochlear implant fitted at the age of 14. He was taught to speak, is able to lip read, and is also fluent in BSL (British Sign Language).

He understood that in mainstream education and clubs some children find it hard to follow what's happening, and this can lead to lack of interest in sports and activities.

At first he ran sessions during the summer holidays and after receiving great feedback from families he took the plunge to make it a permanent weekly event.

He now runs 2 sessions in Bristol for ages 3-5 and 6-8, but hopes to expand the sessions to both older and younger children. He hopes in the future there will be a little feet session available to anyone that needs it.

Ben has a level 3 qualification in sports coaching and has worked in schools and nurseries for most of his adult life. The children will learn a variety of skills, we combine sports activities with other important aspects such as team building, imaginition, colours, number recognition, sharing and being able to follow instructions, they may even pick up some new signs along the way.

Although we specialise in offering deaf friendly sessions we want anyone to feel welcome, and encourage people to join our very special family.
